A whole lot of lasts.....

Image
I am in the season of lasts right now...last kid in his senior year, experiencing his last basketball season, last home game with a team with which he has played his heart out, last time cheering in the stands, last time watching him shoot a three under pressure.... a whole lot of lasts. I put myself in his shoes, knowing that time is literally running out on his basketball career. And I cried.... I cried thinking about how he will feeling as he hears the national anthem for the last time, wrap arms around teammates for the last time, leave his all on the court for the last time. But you see, I didn't actually put myself in his shoes... I put him in mine .  I figured since I was stuck focusing on the "lasts" that he would be too. But I'm wrong....thankfully, I am very wrong. You see, for him, this isn't the end....

This is new territory for us. And trust me, every single fiber of my being wanted to fix it, call someone, figure out what they missed, ask what went sideways during this 8-week process.   But I can't. She's an adult... even if the school would talk to the mom (they won't....), it isn't my program or my graders or my class load or my major. It...

Homecoming Chapel- Written by a very special Theology teacher

So here they are: We begin this chapel in the name of the Triune God, Father who created us, the Son who redeemed us and the Holy Spirit who keeps us in the one true faith.  Amen   We pray-   May the words of my mouth bring you praise.   May the things that I speak be seasoned with your love and grace.   May the things oh Lord that I choose to say bring glory not shame to your name each day.   May the words of my mouth bring you praise.   Homecoming  week.  An exciting time…changing up the ordinary routine… an opportunity to dress a little different...have some friendly competition amongst the  classes.   It is  also a chance to see former students and alumni who will be here as part of the homecoming festivi...
