half way there...again....

Wow....this journey sure has some wacky detours. BUT I do believe we are back on track.

A week ago, Mike came home from the hospital with a script for LOTS of steroids and a bunch of other meds to reduce the inflammation in his lungs caused from chemo. Well THANK YOU GOD for meds, because this man has had such a great week....he's eating (everything in sight...with seconds and thirds!) and has clarity of thought, and his great sense of humor is back *all those great things that I love about him*

He's stronger- physically and mentally. His head is in good place, his body is in a good place. And he's gotten the clearance to resume chemo TOMORROW- minus one drug in the cocktail.

This will actually put him over the halfway hump...the hump we have been TRYING to get over for weeks now. Would you pray with me that this treatment goes as planned, with no side effects, especially in his lungs?

So we continue to look ahead....to the day when this is behind. But in the meantime, we are going to learn to love where we are today. And we are going to continue to lean on God and on our prayer warriors.
As a dear friend reminded me this week, we are not alone.

Please pray with me, this prayer that my dear friend Kelley sent me this morning:

Dear Father in Heaven,
We give you thanks for the healing that you have provided Mike. Cover him tomorrow as he goes back for a chemo treatment that his body will be able to accept the chemo with no side effects. We bring this to you, in your most holy name.
Amen.
